Red Wine Primitivo Puglia IGP

Primitivo, cultivated following the Gobelet training system, is the most common and famous red grape of Puglia region.

The origins of Primitivo are uncertain, it is believed that the vine is of Dalmatian or Croatian origin and that it was imported to Puglia more than 2000 years ago, initially cultivated in the area of Gioia del Colle and then produced throughout the region. The name Primitivo derives from the Latin "Primativus" precisely because of the early ripening of the grapes.

Arpago is a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) Primitivo Puglia grown in the surroundings of Taranto; it displays a ruby red color with purple reflections verging on garnet with aging. Intense and elegant, enveloping taste with hints of red berries, black cherry, blackberries, plums, drunken cherries.

Warm, soft, harmonious and persistent. An excellent match with aged cold cuts, first courses with robust meat sauces, red meats, game dishes and aged cheeses.
